Set-Up

Utilize caution tape to mark off "construction zones" and set up orange cones to guide little workers to the party zone. You can paint large cardboard boxes to resemble tall buildings at the side walls. Use vehicles you already have at home and place throughout the table and party areas. Building Activities
No construction-themed party is complete without engaging building activities. Here are some ideas to keep the little builders entertained:
Build Your Own Toolbox: Set up a craft station where kids can decorate their own mini toolboxes using paint, stickers, and markers. Once decorated, they can fill their toolbox with candy or small trinkets to take home as party favors.
Construct-a-Castle: Provide a variety of building materials such as cardboard boxes, blocks, and foam bricks, and let the kids' imaginations run wild as they build their own castles, skyscrapers, or forts.
Bulldozer Race: Divide the kids into teams and have them participate in a relay race using toy bulldozers or wheelbarrows. Set up an obstacle course with cones, tunnels, and hurdles for an extra challenge.
Digging for Treasure: Fill a sandbox or kiddie pool with sand and bury small toys or trinkets for the kids to discover. Provide shovels, buckets, and sifters for them to dig and explore.

Additional activities include: Pin The Bucket - where each child gets a turn being blindfolded and tries to pin the bucket on the excavator. Pinata - we found the bulldozer shaped pinata making it extra fun! Bean Bag Toss Game - Throw the bean bags into the right hole for more points!

Food and Treats

After working up an appetite, treat the little builders to some construction-themed snacks and treats. Serve up "dirt cups" made with chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, and gummy worms, or create "traffic light" fruit skewers using strawberries, grapes, and pineapple chunks. For dessert, a cake shaped like a construction site or dump truck is sure to delight both the eyes and the taste buds. Use Rock Candy as an extra to decorate cupcakes, the birthday cake or even just a few in each plate and have the children dig 'em up!
